My partner and I purchased a 1960's, traditional style, side-split home back in January, 2015. We loved the bones of the home, all the while, knowing we would be making making some very mindful updates to the home to reflect our contemporary-style.

We are in the process of renovating, staging and re-decorating both the interior and exterior of the home. Keep checking back, as it is an ongoing project.

We painted the living room walls a linen colour, and added an accent grey wall. We painted the built-ins a high-gloss white. Additionally, we replaced the 1960's blonde oak floors with a 2015 jacobean (black/brown). We also replaced the old front window with a three pane, and added California shutters to the space.

This photo is showcasing the newly painted walls and bookshelves that seemed to brighten the space tremendously. We used a linen colour for the far left wall, and a high-gloss white paint for the book shelves.

This photo is taken looking down into the partial living room space. It is showcasing the new front window and California blinds, as well as the newly sanded/stained floors. The room has been transitioned from a traditional 1960's room, to a 2015 contemporary space.

This is a photo taken as you enter into the dinette. We refinished the hardwood floor, changed the solid door and 1960s sidelight windows with a very open french door, and changed the lighting. We also removed a side desk and china cabinet that was fixed to the wall to the right, and added utensil bars. We also painted the main portion of the room a vanilla beige, and added an accent wall behind the banquet chair a iron-grey colour.

We updated the staircase, by painting the risers and trim white, and retaining the hardwood floors to a nice, rich dark colour.
